Personally Identifiable Information

This site does not collect any sort of personally identifiable information from your computer; it does not pick up licence keys, email addresses, credit card details, or equivalents.

With the exception of authentication data, (if present), all communication is unencrypted. Encoding is standard Base64.

Collected Data

Very little data is collected -- your IP address, date/time of your visit, and browser version. We also like to know how you found us. Only the standard server logs are used for this information.

While details about your hardware and software are sent to our webserver, none of this information is retained. However, this policy will change in a few months time, and hardware details will be retained so that we can provide you with a better driver download service.

Cookies

WindizUpdate uses one "standard" session cookie called PHPSESSID. It's only use is to keep track of internal data (ie your updates) while you are at our site. The cookie is not stored and disappears when you close your browser windows. The WindizUpdate component needs this session cookie to work properly.

Malware

This site does not install, or attempt to install, any form of malware including, but not limited to search bars, adware, keyboard loggers, back doors, trojans, or viruses. It does not change any of your browser settings (however, it does scan your browser settings to determine if you are using a proxy server to access the internet). For the purposes of this clause, we do not consider updates from Microsoft, Adobe, Sun Microsystems, and other major vendors to be "Malware".

When you are prompted to allow the plugin to send your information back to this website, if you choose "accept site", an entry is added to the registry under "HKCU\Software\62NDS Solutions\WindizUpdate". This is the only time the plugin will write to the registry.
